It came to me untitled; I call it Rictus.

Carved wood devil-style mask with pronounced curling horns, pale blue glass eyes, and a magnificent moustache framing white bared teeth.

Painted in weathered red, black, and green pigment, with white detailing at the brow and eyes. Solid, substantial carving with genuine age and handling wear consistent with use.

It arrived without documentation, so I won't claim a tradition it hasn't earned.

However, the horned devil form and glass-eye treatment point toward a Latin American dance-mask lineage (likely Guatemala), made for performance rather than display. 

Dimensions: 22.5cm tall x 16cm wide x 14cm (back of the mask to the tip of the nose). Ready to hang.
