This is a beautifully carved wooden fertility mask from Ghana, handcrafted in the Ashanti tradition and originally sold through Oxfam Fair Trade — guaranteeing authentic, ethical craftsmanship.
The Ashanti people of Ghana have a rich tradition of woodcarving, with masks playing an important role in ceremonial and spiritual life. Fertility masks like this one were traditionally used to promote health, prosperity and new life, with a dark finish, serene facial expression and intricate geometric carving across the forehead.
