This striking vintage folk art mask was made in Ceylon (Now Sri Lanka) in the 1950s from a coconut shell and husk.
The beard, moustache and teeth are made from the fibres in the coconut husk and give it real character.
This mask would make an incredible piece of wall art in a hallway and quickly become a real talking point with friends and family.
It was originally sourced during a refuelling stop in Ceylon in the 1950s on a boat voyage to Hong Kong. Where else can you buy something like this?
Given the material it's made from, there are some cracks in the face as can be seen. It's a delicate piece and will be very carefully packaged when posting.
Dimensions: 18cm tall x 16cm wide x 8cm in depth.
